| Sometimes when our child has mastered something, we tend to push ahead and dive into brand new material. But, actually, going back and touching upon basic materiale has value. It reinforces key neurological connections, connecting old informational areas to new, old to new, old to new. It is fine to present basic material that your child has already mastered UNLESS your child does not like it. If he is uncomfortable, then please do fast-forward through it. If he seems to enjoy it still, then let it play. As Maria Montessori says: "Follow the child!" |
